Shalin's weary and bored eye shifted toward the Musharna. Was the psychic-type bringing their prisoner another barely-edible meal? Was someone else wanting to play with her Sygna Suit and her Pokémon? She was still recovering from the brutal beating the Sygna-powered dorian westcliff gave her, rashes all over her body from being exposed to dangerously fast vibration unprotected.

Unlike many of the League higher-ups, Shalin was no soldier. Without her Pokémon and her Sygna Suit, she was helpless to fight back. She wanted to call out to whoever was out there, but the sickly-looking Captain was too weak. The female that was once Hoenn's wildest Pokémon rider couldn't even keep both her eyes open, the girl wincing every time her pimple-like eye sore rubbed against her sleep-deprived eye.

Shalin's heart pounded at her chest as the DREAMY TERRAIN slowly spread, enveloping her entire cell. Her spirit broken from being neither asleep nor awake, her eye sores thumped in sync with her heartbeat in her half-consciousness. The dream that Ameena would see was the Battle of Petalburg playing back, the girl fighting back against aerial member of the Loyal Three, Fezandipiti. Astride the wild fairy-type bird, the Captain would do her best to steer it away from her allies, supposedly in control.

The Toxic Chained Pokémon's pheromones took effect, the skillful rider and her new mount seemingly acting as one... turning against fellow Leaguers. A second Toxic Chain would grow out from her arm, linking with the Fezandipiti's. Turning on Petalburg's citizens and the Leaguers who defended the city she was now but Captain-in-name, the duo appeared to be an unstoppable team.

Shalin herself, the real-world Shalin, began to sweat profusely. Her prison garb dripped with perspiration in places as her dream self wreaked havoc against the Leaguers trying to drive off the legendary Pokémon and its new puppet. Not for Rocket, but for those in control of the Loyal Three.

Gracefully flying over Petalburg City and spreading ATTRACTING pheromones beneath her, Fezandipiti and Shalin turned her allies against one another. The sweat on Shalin's physical body grew greater as her dream self watched DESIREE BLOOMS and AIRI WATANABE go at it, a DIAMOND STORM incapacitating the budding Ranger. Her friendships with them had been suppressed, her mind poisoned by the pheromones she was exposed to as long as she sat astride the fairy-type bird.

Suppressing memories that home was anywhere but by the Fezandipiti's side.

The Petalburg Captain, once a freedom fighter for Petalburg, had doomed her city to being captured. While it appeared that the bird had allied with Rocket, that notion couldn't have been farther from the truth. For the pheromones fell indiscriminately, charming all female Rockets beneath to turn on one another. Her happy eyes, face, and lips turned the color of the toxic chain, the transformation was part of the fairy-type's blessing, making her even more attractive than she already was. She was no longer Captain Nariya of Petalburg.

Shalin was now the Captivator. Allied with neither Rocket nor League, she instead answered to those with command over the Loyal Three. Those in power over Ultra Megalopolis.

Indeed, to convince Shalin that she was the Captivator and that Fezandipiti was her Patron, it would take many months of being imprisoned. Many months of Ameena poisoning Shalin's mind. As the illusory, blood-filled water filled the cell, so did it rain upon Hoenn as she soared the skies on the poison-type bird. The free Shalin would have done everything she could to save the region. The Captivator was not the free Shalin; she reveled with her Patron as the calamity flooded the region with despair, images of DRK Triad members alongside Okidogi and Munkidori trailing behind her as the duo flew.

Had learning of Cillian Quinn 's true identity triggered this? Was it being controlled by the Loyal Three during Petalburg? Was it her run-in with the Curator in the RKS Simulation? Was it her discussion of the DRK Triad with Naomi Sato ? It was hard to tell why these images were flashing through Shalin's subconscious.

What ameena abadi could tell was that the Shalin in the dream was drastically different than her real-world self.

Powerlessness was indeed part of it; in her past battles, Shalin had felt overwhelmed. She was surrounded by combatants with divine gifts and incredibly powerful, cosmos-altering Pokémon she had never even heard of before. It was why she so fervently followed the Type: Full recipe, ambitiously putting some of her Pokémon's lives in jeopardy. It was why Pharika had died, only miraculously being resurrected via the Dream World. And it was why Ellie the Donphan's soul remained in The Border, growing more and more angry with every passing day Shalin ignored the remnants of the restless ground-type.

The Captain began to stir from her dream with bloodshot eyes, though that was the only sign of consciousness she showed. Had the might of the invasive Z-Move run out?
